TN Governor invites Sasikala’s pick Palanisami to form govt:   Just in: Edapadi Palanisami to be sworn in as Tamil Nadu CM. Governor Vidyasagar Rao has invited Sasikala-nominee Palanisami to form the government and has given him 15 days to prove his majority. He will be sworn-in at 4 pm today at the Raj Bhavan, in a low-key affair.

Chennai, rival factions of the ruling AIADMK met Governor Vidyasagar Rao at Raj Bhavan and stressed their demands to give opportunity to form the next government. Caretaker chief minister O.Panneerselvam and his key loyalists met the Governor and reportedly sought permission to take back his resignation and to give a chance to prove his majority on the floor of the house.

The newly elected AIADMK Legislature Party Leader Edappadi K Palaniswamy earlier met Governor and insisted, he commands the support of most of the party MLAs. He stressed that he must be invited to form the Government without delay.

The opposition DMK has said it favours going to the people’s court to come to power. Addressing a party event yesterday in Coimbatore, the party working president MK Stalin said the DMK would not prefer a backdoor entry into power. He remarked that general election may be held any time in the state and asked the party cadres to prepare themselves for it.
