Dear Sagar Media Inc,
I won’t be able to take care of my newborn baby because of Parliament disruptions.
I am pregnant and my baby is due any day now. I am stressed out because mothers in India only get 3 months of leave to take care of their babies.
Last August I was overjoyed when the Rajya Sabha passed a bill to increase maternity leave from 3 months to 6 months.
My joy turned to frustration when I saw the bill get stalled in the Lok Sabha due to constant disruptions and logjams.
Sign my petition and ask the Lok Sabha to pass the bill and increase maternity leave to 6 months.
This session ends in March. If the bill is not passed by then, mothers like me will have no hope.
We need to put massive pressure on the government and show them that we will not tolerate disruptions at the cost of the health of mothers and babies.
Sagar Media Inc, I need to take care of my newborn, but I also need to work to ensure a secure future for my child.
Sign my petition and show Parliament that thousands of Indians want proper maternity leave for new mothers.
Thank you for your support,
Neveah
