Accountability Initiative, Centre for Policy Research is delighted to share the first of its 2017 Budget Brief series in the run up to the Government of India’s budget to be presented on February 1, 2017.

Like every year, these briefs focus on analysing trends in allocations, expenditures and government reported outputs and outcomes for key social sector schemes run by the Government of India. This year’s briefs cover the following schemes: Direct Benefit Transfers, Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme, National Health Mission, Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan, Swacch Bharat Mission (Gramin and Urban) and the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojna.

In this first batch we are circulating briefs for the following: Swacch Bharat Mission (Gramin), Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan, Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Scheme and National Health Mission. Look out for the second batch of briefs to be released later this week.

Additionally, you can also find blogs, articles and other opinion pieces related to multiple social sector schemes on our website.

The links to the Budget Briefs can be found below.

Look forward to your comments.
