Indian Media report:

Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif’s Advisor on Foreign Affairs, Sartaj Aziz today said, National Security Advisors of India and Pakistan have spoken over phone and agreed to reduce tensions on the Line of Control, LoC.

PTI reports quoting Mr. Aziz that a contact was established between India’s NSA, Ajit Doval and his Pakistani counterpart, Nasir Janjua after recent tension between the two countries on the LoC. Mr. Aziz also said Pakistan wants to reduce tensions on LoC.

Last week the Indian Army had carried out surgical strikes on multiple terrorist launch pads across the LoC in Pakistan-Occupied Kashmir, inflicting heavy casualties on terrorists waiting to sneak into India.

The surgical strikes came days after Pakistani terrorists had attacked an Army camp in Kashmir’s Uri, killing 19 soldiers.

Pak Media reports :

The national security advisers (NSAs) of Pakistan and India on Monday held a telephonic conversation and discussed ways to reduce persisting tensions between the two nuclear-armed neighbours, confirmed the Indian media.

The telephonic conversation between NSAs Nasser Khan Janjua and Ajit Doval lasted for two minutes, according to Indian media. The two officials exchanged views on lessening persisting tensions at the borders.

They agreed that it was necessary to reduce tensions for the sake of a conducive environment for the resolution of outstanding issues between the two countries, Indian media outlets reported.Earlier, Advisor to Pakistan PM on Foreign Affairs Sartaj Aziz had confirmed the development.Of late, tensions soared high between the two nuclear-armed adversaries over occupied Kashmir and an attack on Indian army’s brigade headquarters in Uri, which left 18 soldiers dead.

On Thursday, two Pakistani soldiers embraced martyrdom when Indian forces resorted to unprovoked firing across the Line of Control (LoC).

The unprovoked fire was painted as a surgical strike by senior Indian officials, in a move apparently aimed to satisfy the public.

Pakistan rebuffed the claims with the Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) saying, “There has been no surgical strike by India, instead there had been cross-border fire initiated and conducted by Indian forces which is an existential phenomenon”.

Ceasefire violations at the LoC have since been continued by the Indian forces, however, Pakistan Army has also responded to it in a befitting manner.
