Jammu & Kashmir, three unidentified militants were killed in an encounter between militants and the armed forces in Tangdar area along Line of Control (LoC) in north Kashmir’s frontier Kupwara district today.

An Army spokesman told AIR that no security personnel was hurt in the encounter. He added that the sanitization operation is in progress in the area.

The spokesman said, the slain militants were involved in the attack on BSF Camp at Karnah on Friday afternoon. Three BSF personnel had been grievously injured in the attack and admitted in Srinagar Army hospital for advanced treatment.

Union Minister Arun Jaitley today accused Pakistan of waging war against India using new methods of spreading unrest and inciting violence among masses in the Kashmir Valley.

Addressing the BJP’s ‘Tiranga Yatra’ in Jammu today, Mr. Jaitley said that India’s unity has been challenged and the forces behind it need to be defeated.

The Union Finance Minister said that a new serious situation has arisen as Pakistan and various other forces are involved in the violence. He said once again people of Jammu and Kashmir should jointly fight against this aggression. He also paid tributes to the nationalistic icon of Jammu and the founder member of Jana Sangha Pandit Prem Nath Dogra.

Speaking on the occasion, Minster of State in the Prime Minister’s Office Dr. Jitendra Singh held Pakistan responsible for the prevailing unrest in the Valley.

The rally was organised as the concluding function of the ongoing Tiranga Yatra, which was started by the party to mark the 70th Independence Day.

Government has issued notification allowing the Long Term Visa (LTV) holders of minority communities of Afghanistan, Bangladesh and Pakistan to open bank account and purchase property for self occupation. It also decided to issue driving licence, PAN card and Aadhar number to them besides granting permission to take self employment.

These communities are Hindus, Sikhs, Buddhists, Jains, Parsis and Christians. Their free movement within states and transfer of LTV papers from one State to other have also been allowed. Last month, Union Cabinet had approved a proposal in this regard.
