SOUTH AMERICA, A NEW AWAKENING
A film by Alan Stivelman, 90 minutes

A young man is twenty-five years old and is looking for the reason of his existence, the meaning of life. A camera and a notebook filled with questions are the only items he needs to set off on a journey to the Andes range. With Placido, an Andean paqo (priest), he will be taken on an introspective journey such as has never been documented before.

DALAI LAMA IN FRAMES

His Holiness The Dalai Lama turned 80 this year. The exhibition of photographs by a talented Tibetan photographer portraits His Holiness in Dharamsala where he resides, and in his travels around India, the land of the Buddha’s birth. He has often described himself and the Tibetans as the Chelas of India, their Guru. It is today the other way around. The photographs celebrate one of the most respected and loved public figure of our times for his inclusive message of compassion.

TENZIN CHOEJOR was born in Lhasa, Tibet, studied in Upper TCV, (Tibetan Children’s Village) Dharamsala after coming to India in 1987.  He completed his Bachelor’s in Political Science in 2002 and Masters in Mass Communications in 2005 from MCC (Madras Christian College), Chennai. In July 2005, he joined the Office of His Holiness the Dalai Lama in Dharamsala and since then has been working as the official photographer for His Holiness and as webmaster of www.dalailama.com.
