Ipsos polling group, Conservative Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic won Serbia’s presidential election today in a landslide with 58 percent of votes.

Opposition candidate Sasa Jankovic came second with 14 per cent, Ipsos said based on 40 per cent of votes counted from a sample of polling stations.

Serbian citizens are casting their votes for the country’s president, with 11 candidates taking part in the race. The leading three are: the current premier, Aleksandar Vucic; Sasha Yankovic, former ombudsman; and Luka Maksimovic, a sociology student also known as Ljubisa Beli Preletacevic. 6.7 million of the country’s residents have the right to vote, TASS reports, and the final results are expected to be announced within 96 hours after the polling stations close.
