Five people were injured in southeast London when a car ploughed into a group of pedestrians in Bellingham. Police and paramedics were called to the scene, where one person was reportedly trapped under the car. “Police were called at approximately 8:20am on Sunday, 26 February, to reports of a car in collision with a wall and a number of pedestrians on Bromley Road in Bellingham,” said a spokesman from the Metropolitan Police, as reported by the Evening Standard. “Five people were treated at the scene. They have all been taken to south and east London hospitals. We await an update on their condition.” The driver of the car has been taken into custody on suspicion of causing serious injury by driving dangerously.
